Community Meditations

Participation Opportunities

1-Hour Zoom Meditation, Friday Noon, Bi-Weekly

Are you interested in starting or nurturing your own personal meditation practice? This bi-weekly meeting on Zoom allows beginners, as well as seasoned meditators a space that will support their practice. Participants experience a community of like-minded souls, while building personal confidence in their meditation skills. 

A pre-requisite to joining this event is completion of the Introduction to Meditation class. In the introductory class Anne teaches with clarity and patience the scientific methods of meditation given to us by Paramhansa Yogananda. 

This 1-hour meditation is currently meeting every other Friday at noon.

2-Hour In-Person Meditation, Sunday 3-5 pm, Monthly

This event is offered monthly to provide a longer guided meditation than the bi-weekly sessions. The longer time-period allows one to experience deeper relaxation and peace. You will be guided through the practice of energization exercises and breathing techniques. More time is devoted to chanting, practicing Hong Sau and Expansion with the goal of developing greater inner awareness and connection to our soul nature. These meditations are suited for people who are new to the practice of meditation, as well as more experienced meditators.

In-person meditation benefits from the experience of “satsang”. Satsang is a Sanskrit term meaning “fellowship with truth” but in practice it really means “fellowship with other truth seekers.” Paramhansa Yogananda taught that next to daily meditation, one of the most important things for a spiritual seeker is “satsang”. The principle is that when two or more people are together, they strengthen and magnify their vibrations.

The in-person meditation is held on the last or next to last Sunday of the month from 3-5 p.m.  

2-Hour Zoom Meditation, Saturday, 9-11 am, Quarterly

This 2-hour meditation is like the 2-hour In-Person meditation, the exception being, it is a Zoom event. Here too, the longer time-period allows one to experience deeper relaxation and peace. You will be guided through the practice of energization exercises and breathing techniques. More time is devoted to chanting, practicing Hong Sau and Expansion with the goal of developing greater awareness and connection to our soul nature. These meditations are suited for people who are new to the practice of meditation, as well as more experienced meditators.
